Events

Here at LUSA we are responsible for many of the fun events that happen around uni at different times of the year. We believe uni should be fun and social to get you through the long academic year! We take care of all sorts of stuff, from the infamous Garden Party - barbecues and study stalls. If you want to give us some feedback or a suggestion for a band or event, email lusa.info@lincoln.ac.nz!

Orientation

The first week of lectures is also Orientation. That is the week that LUSA puts on loads of events for you to get to know other students and have a great time. The events include things like a toga party, comedy night, hypnotist show, and music events. We are already working on 2013 so stay tuned for a great line-up of artists.

Grad Ball

Graduation is such an exciting time. Aside from all the 'officialdom', it's a great chance to catch up with old mates. Grad Ball is the perfect opportunity to do that. As we get closer to the time we will have more details about the date, time, location and where you can buy tikets. See you there!

Awards Night

Awards Night is a night to celebrate the success of our students and staff. We have 'Gold' awards for significant clubs and cultural contribution, 'Green' awards for outstanding academic and support services and 'Blue' for sporting representation at a national or international level. During this event we also give out awards to the top Future Leaders, sports team and person of the year. This event happens in the second semester. Stay tuned for more details on how you can nominate a student or staff member for an award!

Winterfest

Winterfest is B semester Orientation and depending on what we dream up, there could be a rail jam, burgers beers and beats or a big concert. Either way - we are gonna organise something great to see in the second semester. Keep watching for more details!

International Night

International Night is the chance to truly experience the diverity that we have at Lincoln. International students work hard to prepare food and cultural performances. The night starts at 5pm with food from all over the world and is followed by performances. This event has sold out for three years running so make sure you get your tickets early!

Garden Party

No year would be complete without - Garden Party. It is the one day where you get to dress up and party with thousands of your mates! A good costume and the free brekkie are essentials to surviving the day. In 2013 the Garden Party will be held on Friday 11 October and you can bet we are already thinking about who will be the chosen acts!
