Ivy Harper - LUSA President Ko Kahuranki te maunga Tena koutou, tena kou, tena koutou katoa, Kia ora and welcome to Lincoln University Students’ Association (LUSA). Originally from the A new Executive and a new look for LUSA will hopefully go some way towards promoting the services, events, people, and representation that LUSA provides for you. LUSA will face a number of challenges over the coming year that will impact on you as a student such as the Freedom of Association Bill, rising fees, increasing student debt, and barriers to education. As your President for 2010, I look forward to a productive year and working with the new Executive, the University and of course the wider student body to address these issues. So if I can help you, please contact me. I have an open door policy and am happy to discuss any issue with you. Let’s have a great year and help us to help you! No reira, tena koutou, tena koutou, tena tatou katoa. Send me an email

Katie Collins - LUSA Vice President Hi all, my name is Katie. I have been your Gender Officer in 2009 and I have just been voted on as the LUSA Vice President in 2010. I’m really keen to be involved in the LUSA executive again this year. I am organised, approachable, supportive, committed, a good communicator and leader and I get on well with others. Two important characteristics I bring to the executive are experience and passion. I am passionate about the job. I actually give a shit about you guys and about the things that impact on you. This year I have been involved in lobbying against the threat of voluntary student membership. I will continue to do this into the future, due to the impacts that VSM would have on the valuable representation and advocacy services students’ associations around New Zealand provide. Having been on the executive for 2009, I have experience in how LUSA operates. I have heard feedback from students, and worked to improve things. I organised Wellfest, which was enjoyed by all those who attended. I have made contacts, I understand what the role entails and I love getting involved. I look forward to another year of involvement with LUSA in 2010. Send me an email
Josh Hovell - Te Awhioraki Rep
Gidday I'm Josh and I am the Maori Collective rep on the LUSA Executive 2010. I am originally from the East Coast of the North Island and currently studying towards a Bachelor of Environmental Management and Planning degree . As part of the LUSA Executive, one of my roles is to provide a link between LUSA and Te Awhioraki, the Maori Students' Association to continue to strengthen the relationship between the associations. A further role is to act as an advocate for all Maori students within the University and to identify any issues that will affect them. Come and introduce yourself should you see me around campus. Send me an email

Dene Franklin - Finance Officer Hi my name is Dene, I come from Hamilton and went to Hamilton Boys High School. I have one younger sister who is going to Massey. I'm studying a Bachelor of Commerce majoring in Valuation and Property Management. My career ambitions are to become a registered property valuer and hopefully own my own business in the Coromandel/Bay of Plenty area. This coming year I hope to get more events organised and a voice in LUSA for undergrads and on campus students. An ambition of mine is to get a "student area" on campus looked into and where students can go and chill out, have a beer and watch the rugby or play pool, somewhere that is our own, unlike Mrs O’s. Send me an email.

Hannah Presswood - Ag and Life Science Faculty Rep Hi my name is Hannah, I'm from rural West Auckland and moved to Christchurch in 2007 for uni. I was in the halls in first year (top floor of Hudson) and have flatted in both Riccarton and Lincoln since then. My degree is a BSc (Food Science), which I finish in 2009 but stay on for a Masters in the same field. I want to grow goats and make goat cheese one day (I don't know why)..... The reason I want to join LUSA is to gain knowledge of the university system and experience in politics, as well as helping to ensure that all science and agriculture students know how and are able to make the most of their university years (in terms of both academics and good times). I hope to help you have a memorable university experience. Send me an email.
Emily Kelly - ESDD Faculty Rep I’m a 4th year landscape architecture student and this year, the LUSA environmental officer. I am from Geraldine and moved to Christchurch to attend Lincoln Uni. Like everyone else that has been to Lincoln I love the place, especially the rural setting. This year I hope to bring everyone a cleaner greener campus and bring to light some of the issues that are increasing around the world. Watch out for: Anyways hope you all have an awesome year. Look forward to meeting heaps of you at our awesome events. Get into it, see you there... Need to chat?? Feel free to send me an email anytime... will be heard and most importantly act upon. Past and present experience of being a class rep will help me land on my feet running. The life skills which I have developed during my 3 years at Lincoln University would bring a practical outlook on the issues that students are faced with every day, I will be able to represent the values and principles of which we as students stand for. I am very excited about 2010 and would relish the opportunity to be this faculty’s representative on the students association. I look forward to receiving your support during my campaign. Send me an email Rob McLean - Commerce Faculty Rep Once finishing 7th form in 2006 I decided to take a gap year and moved to Denmark where I lived and studied for a year. Denmark was a really cool country, very chilled out, funny guys, hot girls, and I got to do a lot of travelling around Europe over the year and made some really good mates along the way. I spent a lot of time in Denmark looking through universities and jobs back home and stumbled across Lincoln Universities BCOM VAPM degree and finally found something I really wanted to do. At the end of the day I am just an average Lincoln commerce student that wants to represent the average Lincoln commerce student, and I look forward to working for LUSA in 2010. Send me an email. Ashleigh Davies - General Executive I am a 4th year commerce student completing a marketing and supply chain degree. I am originally from Tauranga and moved down to Christchurch for studying purposes. I love Christchurch and Lincoln University, especially in spring with the blossom trees in flower. The people are awesome and down to earth, and I have made life long friends. I applied for LUSA General Representative because I feel that Lincoln University students need fresh, inviting and friendly faces to approach, enabling them to get their voices heard to Lincoln University staff and management on the real issues they face. I also hope to get the face of LUSA out and known by all students, developing relationships with them, and encouraging a wide range of activities so that all students feel involved with one another on all levels and not just in lectures. Send me an email Iylia Rajayazid - General Executive Firstly, my name is Iylia and I’m a full-time student, doing a degree in Social Science. I hail from the hot and humid country of Malaysia, making me an International Student. Originally I was planning to run for International Officer, but since there has been a reshuffle, I decided to run for one of the General Executive posts. Since I’m an International student, my concern lies in the International affairs of the student body. I’m no politician (student or otherwise), but I would love to see the International students fees policy be a bit more up-to-date and not as vague as it is now. I’m also keen to see the welfare of International students be well taken care of, and to make sure that everyone is treated just and fairly as equals. No more of this harassment sh*t! I’ve been a Residential Assistant (RA) in the Lincoln University Halls of Residence, so I believe that my experience as an RA will come in handy. Being an RA has taught me loads of life and lifelong skills that will be put to good use. I’ve had my fair share of ups and downs on this job, so I suppose it’s fair enough to say that I’m qualified to be a General Executive on LUSA. Send me an email.

Kia Ora, my name is Rob McLean and I am a third year BCOM VAPM student here at Lincoln University. I grew up in Queenstown and when I was 13 years old I decided to go to a boarding school in Dunedin called John McGlashan College where I spent the remainder of my high school years. I was a keen swimmer and hockey player through school and Dunedin was an awesome city to do high school in.

Hi all! As I’ve been asked to write a blurb about myself, I suppose I should give it a shot and see what happens
