Lincoln University has successfully hosted the Lincoln University Post Graduate Conference for many years now and the 2010 PG Conference has been scheduled for the 2nd and 3rd of September. The theme is:
LAND: Where do we want to be? Challenges for the 21st Century.
Postgraduate students are invited to share their research findings in a 15 minute presentation. The Conference aims to:
- Improve awareness of, and showcase, LU PG research to other students, academics and external interests;
-Provide a network of forum that will help enhance the research culture for PGs at LU;
-As appropriate, provide an opportunity for Masters and PhD students to fulfil the results seminar requirements for their degrees;
-Improve the conference presentation skills of PG students; and
-Provide an opportunity for LU PG students to organise a conference for LU students.

Vice Chancellor's Welcome
A modern University requires a high level of postgraduate activity to support the overall research endeavour and the Postgraduate Conference is a central showcase for the innovation and creativity of our students. While research is sometimes seen as a singular activity, there is much to share and the multi-disciplinary focus of the Conference achieves a broader objective of informing participants of the particular challenges and approaches in specific research areas. This experience, plus the opportunity to speak publicly to peers, should have worthwhile benefits for all participants, as the spectre of future employments looms.
I wish all the presenters and participants a successful Postgraduate Conference and remember everyone will get more out of the experience if you all make a significant individual contribution.
I offer my good wishes to all Conference participants for a successful event.
